I have gained back 4 pounds, but still down 3. YAY!

Already drank one bottle of water.

Maybe MIA

The computer is on the fritz. I swear, this summer, if it isn't the car it's the computer. So I have not been able to do any diet stuff online cuz the puter won't let me. But I am doing ok. The weekend sucked because Mother Nature came to visit and all that does is make me lazy and want to eat everything in sight. But I did good. I didn't eat too much. I am still down 4 pounds. Still drinking water. The DP I drink is diet. And get this....I made a roast last night for dinner and ate my veggies! Yay me! I have even had salad for lunch the past 2 days. And I have worked up my workouts to 30 minutes. I bought me a pair of walking/running shoes and waiting for the rain to let up. It has been raining almost everyday for a week and a half now. And Paul gave the ok to join a gym, but we can't afford it till next month.

Day 3

I suck. I do so good during the day, and then I give in to temptation at night. But now that I know that's one of my weaknesses I will work on it.

My calories for yesterday (that I will admit to on paper) was 1827. I only had 2 Dr. Peppers.

I worked out for 40 minutes.

I had 3 big gulps full of water.

I cheated by having a leftover rib. But they are soooooo good.

I think I have Paul convinced I (we) need to join the gym. So your task for today is to tell me which gym is better. A nationwide chain? The Y?

Oh, and I have lost 3 pounds already.

Day 1

I guess I have done ok, for a last minute, spur of the moment, start of a diet. I have eaten today...

2 cups of coffee, with cream and sugar
3 cans of Dr. Pepper (way better than my usual 5 or 6 a day)
3 big gulp size cups of water (may have 1 more before the end of the day)
a slim fast drink
1 left over barbque rib
1/2 a serving of chicken parmisian with mozarella and sauce and pasta.

I have worked up a sweat doing....

20 minutes on the stationary bike, with a pretty good resistance on it (still hope to do 10 more minutes)
90 sit ups of various forms...legs up, knee bent elbow cross, etc.
20 pushups
20 side lunges holding medicine ball
20 arm lifting medicine ball over head

Now for when it comes to counting calories, I am using www.sparkpeople.com. I don't know how accurate it is. Same goes for the exercise to calorie burn ratio, or I don't know the correct names for the off the top of my head exercises I do right now. So that being said....

Calorie intake for the day was 2,180. Roughly 600 more than I should have. I went over on carbs and fats also.

Exercise wise, I only did 40 minutes. Burned 264.2 calories, which is over my daily goal. That's a good thing.

An Explanation


Over the weekend, I went to go support one of our local news crews in promoting their new "news hour". While there I had my picture taken with a few reporters. I get home and upload the pictures and this is what I see.....



Ugh, gross. (Not you Damali, me) That one threw me. You see, mentally, I still weigh 130. I can still wear skinny jeans. I didn't have 3 kids. And then I see myself and get slapped in the face.

AND, my 20th reunion is in exactly 2 months from today.

AND, I hate diets. I hate anything good for me.

So I created this blog so that I, selfishly, get some support by others. I need it. If I am to do this, I need my cheering section. Please stick around and throw some tips my way. I am keeping a food journal the old fashioned way thru out the day and will post my daily intake here. I have upped my water intake from none to peeing every 5 minutes. On my second big gulp full of the day. Intake, that is.

We will laugh, we will cry, I will be 20 pounds thinner in 2 months. Dangit!
